movie inspiration: black belly of the tarantula

Finishing up Italian horror movie/fashion week I've got screencaps of Black Belly of the Tarantula (1971). Gorgeous interiors and furniture. Apparently it was inspired by Argento's Bird with the Crystal Plumage, which was available a few weeks ago but is gone now...

This nightgown is just the prettiest

and this necklace -

That table and chairs has indentations for the plates and silverware - so genius. I'm sure it's by a famous designer but I can't figure out who..

Love the painting and fur bedspread. And that funny cloud thing next to the bed is a lamp

"A waste of time Signora - the moustache is in."

movie inspiration: suspiria

Suspiria (1977) isn't my favorite Argento movie story-wise, but frame for frame it is the most stunning picture.
I want to live here -

I could have taken hundreds of pictures, but then you'd just be watching the movie real slow..
Sometimes it's on Netflix instant, but of course now that i make a post about it they've made it unavailable.

movie inspiration: cat o nine tails

Cat O'Nine Tails (1971) is not the best Argento movie ever, but the story is good enough to have been stolen by every modern cop/courtroom show out there. And this chick wears nothing but insane slash-work polyester jumpsuits and dresses throughout - totally worth it for them alone.

I have no idea how you do these sleeves up by yourself..

movie inspiration: deep red (1975)

This is a movie I actually used to have years ago, but I lent it out and never saw it again. Lesson learned - never lend out a movie by Dario Argento. The print I had was terrible though, and it's now available instantly on Netflix in really pretty resolution.
1975 was a great year for Italian horror films, Italian fashion and probably everything else in Italy. But the key thing in this movie is the house - art nouveau perfection. I can't find anything online about the actual house though. The other key thing is the music - performed by the Goblins. Best. Film score. Ever.
Apparently this one is known in Japan as "Suspiria 2". Hilarious - it has nothing at all to do with Suspiria. I have screencaps from that one for you as well, even though it is not my favorite Argento film at all. It is pretty though. There's actually 2 of his movies on deck for you.. this is fashion week/Argento week here.
