movie inspiration: The Happy Hooker

I enjoyed The Happy Hooker (1975) way more than I thought I would. I went into it just for the clothes, but Lynn Redgrave is really brilliant. It's very tame - like it could be shown on primetime TV. But of course they'd have to change the name.
The clothes definitely do not disappoint. Costumed by Ann Roth who, according to the IMDB, is

"Noted for the innovative ways she costumes hookers and con-artists." She also did Midnight Cowboy, Klute, Hair, 9 to 5, Silkwood, Working Girl, Bonfire of the Vanities, Postcards from the Edge, The Hours, Stepford Wives (the new one) and 100 other movies with great wardrobes.

Currently seeking this blazer

It has a face of some sort on the back. Really this outfit is so me. I already have the hat.

she has more berets than I do

and it's not all berets either-

shearling w matching purse - probably faux.

trench, glittery purse, clear blue shades - so right now

Yes, the wallpaper is super great, but that's not the best part - that nightie is Pucci for Formfit Rogers. I have found this piece and others from the series at the thrifts, and they are on ebay all the time. It's pretty much the only vintage Pucci a mere mortal can get their hands on. Google Pucci Formfit to see what's out there.

Hay I know you too! When the Dutch girl takes over the whorehouse she puts up Dutch paintings and posters - and this rare poster from a Paul Klee show in Paris in 1955

Which I happen to have in my livingroom.

The other hookers wear great stuff too..

this is a gold leather pantsuit
and more gold-

swamp-green dyed fox over that gold leather pantsuit, w a kelly green satin clutch. Again, could have been styled today.
Vintage fur coats on parade-

Long live maxi dresses

We'll I'd be a happy hooker too if I had that wardrobe. I have been lucky enough to find two Pucci dresses at the thrift store, which I sold on Ebay for a ton of dough.
